Are you looking to upgrade the rear bolts on your older Land Cruiser Full Floating Rear Diff?

This kit is put together to suit 40-60 Series and some models of 70 and 80 Series Landcruiser that use an M8x1.25mm rear axle stud. These will NOT suit vehicles that have 10mm Rear Axle Studs (Example: Later 75 Series, including HDJ and VDJ Models, and 100 Series Models with Full Floating Hubs)

These bolts are an upgrade from the factory grade 8.8 to grade 12.9, if you wish to see a comparison, please, scroll down the page to the full description.

This means that you have a 67.24% higher proof load, a 71.87% higher Minimum Yield, and a 52.5% Higher Tensile Yield Strength.

The use of Anti-Vibration Nord-Lock Style nuts also is an upgrade over the standard factory split spring washer.

This is a perfect alternative for applications where you do not wish to re-drill your hubs to accept 10mm studs.

This kit has a lead time of about 5 business days for Pre-Order.

This kit DOES NOT come with the Cone Washers, you have to re-use your own.

Are you looking for a rear Stud Upgrade older Land Cruiser Full Floating Rear Diff?

This kit is put together to suit 40-60 Series and some models of 70 and 80 Series Landcruiser that use an M8x1.25mm rear axle stud.

These bolts are an upgrade to grade 12.9, please see the below comparison chart for more information.

The use of Anti-Vibration Nord-Lock Style nuts also is an upgrade over the standard factory split spring washer.

This Stud Upgrade has been tested by us here at 4WD DIY and has reduced our occurences of breakage significantly, our biggest issue now is no longer the studs, but the bearings and the axles themselves!

This kit DOES NOT come with the Cone Washers, you have to re-use your own.

4WD DIY also requires that you do a full set of Wheel Bearings and Seals while you are installing this kit.

This stud upgrade must be installed with the correct torque settings as set out in the factory workshop manual to ensure the best performance and to avoid any issues.

Wheel Bearing Failure is one of the most common causes of snapping axle studs on these older full floating wheel hub setups, as this causes the full load of the vehicle to be placed onto these studs in the event of a wheel bearing failure.

4WD DIY recommends that you use a quality brand such as Timkin or Koyo Bearings, however there are other good bearing brands that are available to suit older Land Cruisers.

A good rule of thumb we see is the “Christmas Service” where Bearings and Seals are checked and re-packed every 12 months.

If you utilise your vehicle in a heavy duty scenario or in arduous conditions, you should look to checking them at a more regular interval.
